New Delhi: Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has been fighting a war with Russia for more than a year, has sent a letter to PM Narendra Modi. In this letter, he has requested that Prime Minister Modi send additional humanitarian aid to Ukraine. This request has come at a time when Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Emin Japarova is on a 3-day visit to India. Japarova handed over this letter of President Zelensky addressed to Prime Minister Modi on the occasion of her meeting with India's Deputy Foreign Minister Meenakshi Lekhi yesterday. In the letter, Ukraine has requested additional humanitarian supplies, including medicines and medical equipment.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, it was said that 'the Ukrainian minister also proposed that the reconstruction of infrastructure in Ukraine could be an opportunity for Indian companies'. According to the statement, it has been agreed that the next Inter-Governmental Commission between the two countries will be held in India at a mutually convenient date.

Expressing her desire to increase relations with India, Japarova said, 'India can play a big role. We respect the decisions of sovereign countries. India is also building relations with other countries. It is for you to decide; it is for your benefit. He said that Ukraine is ready to share important military technology and expertise with India. Japarova also said, 'India and Ukraine have a lot in common in many ways. There is a lot of scope for deepening our bilateral relations. This is just the beginning of our conversation. At the same time, in response to a question, he said that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, would like to address the G-20 summit in India.
