New Delhi: Kisan Union and the government are scheduled to meet at 3 pm today in the midst of a protest against the agriculture law brought by the Central government. A meeting of the farmers is to be held under the leadership of Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, before that at the residence of BJP National President Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Defense Minister Rajnath reached the meeting.
Narendra Tomar said on Monday that the government has called the farmers 'organizations for a meeting at Vigyan Bhawan at 3 pm on Tuesday, as farmers' protest against agricultural laws has intensified. Citing the onset of the winter season and the corona epidemic, Tomar said, "It is certain that the meeting should take place in advance." Meanwhile, the farmer unions decided to call a meeting and said they would hold talks with the Central government.
Farmer leaders talked to the cabinet ministers and asked them to bring board form unions from all over the country for talks. They want to take a decision keeping in mind the farmers of the whole country, not a particular state. Reacting to the invitation, Jagmohan Singh, general secretary of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Dakonda), said that it is expected to participate in the meeting of agricultural organizations and take a common decision for farmers across the country. A Punjab-specific package or offer is not acceptable.
