Amit Shah Arrives In Guwahati, Thanks People For Warm Welcome

Guwahati: Union home minister Amit Shah arrived at Guwahati on Friday night on a three-day visit to the Northeast. He received a warm welcome after he landed at LGBI Airport in Guwahati. Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma received the home minister at the airport.

The home minister thanked the people of Assam for the welcome. He took to Twitter and wrote,  “Reached Guwahati! I wholeheartedly thank the people of Assam for such a warm welcome." Folk artistes and locals gathered outside the Airport in Guwahati to welcome Shah. CM also welcomed the Home minister and wrote, “I heartily welcomed Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji at  Guwahati airport and thanked him on behalf of the people of Assam as he is set to launch several developmental projects for the state,” 

Shah will lay foundation stones of a number of ambitious projects from Amingaon on Saturday, including Batadrava Than at Bardowa, a new medical college in Guwahati and many more. The home minister will also ceremoniously distribute a financial grant of Rs 2.5 lakh to 8,000 naamghars in the State under the Assam Darshan programme.
