Bhopal: The corona unit of Bhopal's Hamidiya hospital lost power last Friday night. After that emergency backup resorted but after 10 minutes it also stopped. The power of corona wards cut for more than one and a half hours. In the meantime, the machines of the patients admitted in the ward turned off and there was a hue and cry in the ward. The condition of three patients running on high flow support deteriorated.

It was told that he was taken on ventilator and CPR was also given, but 67-year-old Akbar Khan, who was a two-time councillor from the Congress, died. Two other patients were also reported to have died. Talking about this, Akbar's brother Mehboob said, "Generator was not able to start without diesel." Now, if the hospital sources are believed, the power was cut at 5:48 pm. It returned after two hours at about 7:45 pm. A total of 64 patients were admitted in corona wards and out of these, 11 serious patients were kept in ICU wards. Generators have been installed for power backup in Hamidia. When the main supply cut, the automatic supply starts from the backup, but the backup did not work. According to the information, the Hamidia management spends Rs 10 lakh every year on its maintenance and diesel.

Talking about this, medical Education Minister Faith Sarang said, "A notice has been given to the dean and superintendent of Hamidia. The PWD engineer has been suspended. The engineer who certified the power backup system of the hospital was also suspended and doctor also receives the notice. '
