New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has paid homage to five Jawans who were martyred in encounters along with Naxalites in the Bijapur and Sukma districts of Chhattisgarh. According to the report, Amit Shah spoke to CM Bhupesh Baghel of Chhattisgarh and took stock of the entire situation, and directed the director-general, CRPF to go to the state.
In a tweet, Home Minister Amit Shah wrote, "I salute the sacrifices of our brave security personnel who were martyred while fighting Maoists in Chhattisgarh. The nation will never forget their heroism. My condolences are with their family members. We will continue our war against these enemies of peace and progress. I pray that the injured Jawans are right soon. Before Shah, PM Modi also condoled the incident and paid tribute to the martyred Jawans.
PM Modi wrote in a tweet that my thoughts are with the Jawans who have received peace in the Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh. The sacrifices of the martyrs will never be forgotten. I wish the injured a speedy recovery. Five Jawans have been martyred in the attack on Saturday, while 15 Jawans are still reported missing. More than 20 Jawans have also been injured.
