New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has given a befitting reply to the opposition on the question of transfer of High Court Judge S. Muralidhar who lobbied the police during the hearing of Delhi riots. In the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Amit Shah said that the opposition is raising questions about the transfer of Delhi High Court judge Muralidhar, while in reality, he had a routine transfer.

'CAA is not anti-Muslim, but protest against it is undoubtedly anti-Hindu'

Taking a dig at the opposition parties, Amit Shah said, "I want to ask those who make baseless allegations whether only one judge can do justice?" Do you not trust another judge? How is this obstinacy that only one judge can do justice? In fact, the apex court collegium transferred Judge S. Muralidhar from Delhi High Court to Punjab and Haryana High Court. Muralidhar's transfer came to light when he was hearing of the Delhi riots.

Judge Muralidhar had fiercely reprimanded the Delhi Police over the Delhi riots and summoned Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik. Meanwhile, when Judge Muralidhar was transferred, the opposition had tried to put the Modi government in the dock. On Thursday, in the Rajya Sabha, Amit Shah attacked the Congress and said that 76 percent of the riots took place during the Congress tenure. He also counted the riots in the Rajya Sabha during the Congress rule. Also said that no matter what party, caste or religion, the rioter will be spared.
