Mumbai: The Election Commission has handed over the Shiv Sena's name and election symbol 'bow and arrow' to the Eknath Shinde faction. A day after the Election Commission's decision, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday said Amit Shah has kept his promise of standing like a rock by his side. 

Eknath Shinde said, "Amit Shah told me 'Shinde Ji, you go ahead. We will stand behind you like a rock' and he did what he said." In June last year, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government fell due to Eknath Shinde's rebellion, and Uddhav Thackeray was removed from the post of CM. Shinde later formed a government in Maharashtra in alliance with the BJP, claiming the support of 40 of the Shiv Sena's 55 MLAs and 13 of the 18 Lok Sabha members. 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Election Commission has converted milk into milk and water into water yesterday. He said that the formula of Satyamev Jayate was established in Maharashtra yesterday. Taking a jibe at Uddhav Thackeray's group, Amit Shah said, 'We had asked for votes by putting Modi ji's photo, but after the election, due to the greed of the post of CM, he licked the feet of Congress and NCP.' Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said that the 'double horsepower' government in Maharashtra will work hard under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He said that the two and a half years of the MVA government in the state were useless. Now we have two and a half years left and we have a lot of work to do. Devendra Fadnavis said in Pune that our 'double horsepower' government will work with all its might under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
