Amit Shah takes stock of Assam-Mizoram border situation

The situation got tensed  along the Assam-Mizoram border following the October 17 clash in which several persons were injured. Many attempts made by political to tackle the situation. Now, Union home minister Amit Shah spoke to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal over the phone on Wednesday evening and took stock of the current situation at Assam-Mizoram border.

The home minister inquired about the measures taken to defuse tension at the border and said that the union home ministry has initiated steps for maintaining peace at the state border. Assam CM apprised Shah of the steps taken by the Assam government for the normalizing situation at the border. He informed that senior-level government official’s discussion to address the border issue has already begun. Assam CM also apprised the Union Home Minister that Mizoram CM Zoramthanga during a telephonic talk earlier assured him to take positive steps for bolstering peace at the border and restoring the peace. 

Lets us tell you that the joint secretary of Union Home Ministry (North East) Satyendra Garg, who has visited Assam as per the direction of the Union Home Minister has held an significant discussion in Silchar earlier on the day.
