Ahmedabad: Union Home Minister and party strongman Amit Shah has now taken over the reins to keep Gujarat, the strongest fortress of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), impenetrable. Amit Shah has called an important meeting of BJP core committee members on Tuesday (November 8) to chalk out the strategy for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections.
All the leaders of the Gujarat BJP core committee have reached the national capital to attend this meeting. Even Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel is in Delhi for brainstorming. Today, CM Patel is also expected to meet top BJP leaders. Earlier on Monday, till late night, Amit Shah held an important meeting with BJP Gujarat unit chief CR Patil and Gujarat CM at his residence.
Meanwhile, the BJP will hold a meeting of its Central Election Committee (CEC) at the party headquarters in Delhi on Wednesday evening to finalise the first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. The meeting will be held in the presence of PM Narendra Modi, BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and BJP state president CR Patil and other members of the CEC and state unit.
