Kolkata: Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, and former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President will be on a two-day visit to West Bengal from November 5 to oversee the party's organizational matters ahead of the 2021 assembly elections. Party sources have given information in this regard. In a late-night development, West Bengal BJP General Secretary Sayantan Basu said the proposed visit of BJP National President JP Nadda has been canceled since November 6.
Basu told the media on Friday night, "JP Nadda's visit has been canceled for the time being." It has been decided that Amit Shah will travel to West Bengal on a two-day tour from November 5. "He is likely to travel to Medinipur district on November 5 and meet party leaders from the state the next day," he said. The program has not been finalized yet.
BJP's national general secretary and Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya said that Shah would brainstorm various aspects of the organization and discuss the party's strategy for the upcoming assembly elections. He said, 'These will be more or less indoor programs.' He is likely to address a press conference in Kolkata.
