New Delhi: The impact of GST, which was implemented on milk products last month, is now visible. Amul, the country's largest milk dairy, has increased the prices of milk. From Wednesday (August 17), Amul's milk will become expensive by Rs 2 per litre. Mother Dairy has also increased the price of milk by two rupees. The increased prices will come into effect from Wednesday. Earlier, Mother Dairy had increased milk prices by Rs 2 per litre on March 6.

Amul's milk will become expensive from August 17 across the country, including Gujarat. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) has announced a hike in milk prices. Now the price of 500 ml Amul Gold will increase to Rs 31. Customers will now have to pay Rs 25 for a 500 ml packet of Amul Taaza and a packet of 500 ml Amul Shakti will be available for Rs 28.

Earlier, Amul company had increased the price of milk by Rs 2 per litre on March 1, 2022. At that time, the company had cited expensive transportation. The company said that due to expensive petrol and diesel, the prices of milk have to be increased.
