US citizen accused of blasphemy shot dead in Pakistan Court

Washington: A man accused of blasphemy was shot dead in Peshawar court, Pakistan. The attackers fired  6 bullets one after the other, killing a man named Tahir Nasim, who belonged to the Ahmadi community. This incident has surprised everyone, even America has strongly condemned this incident and asked to take immediate action.

Tahir Naseem was arrested two years ago in Peshawar on charges of blasphemy, accused of commenting on Prophet Mohammad. On Wednesday, when a hearing was going on in a Peshawar court, some people came before the judge and started firing rapidly. In this attack, Tahir received 6 bullets, killing him.

According to Pakistan media, Tahir was under the grip of the police since 2018, he was facing trial in many cases. The maximum sentence of death can be given in the currents imposed on it. This incident has been tweeted by the South Asian Department of the US State Department. They tweeted "We express our condolences to the family of Tahir Naseem, a US citizen killed in a Pakistani court. They request Pakistan to take strong action against the accused and further stop such incidents."
