A man's brain was also found from here, which had become of glass. There is a volcano in the Gulf of Naples close to Pompai, named Mount Vasaviyas. This volcano erupted suddenly in 79 CE, due to which large amounts of lava, ash and gas came out. It caused a lot of destruction. The people living in Pompai could leave the city and run away, the lava of the volcano had reached here. Due to this, this area had become so hot that people's blood started boiling and skulls were torn. Lave died due to his painful death. Later, when the lava came in solid form due to falling temperature, the human body also became of stone.
