Andhra: Jagan Reddy announces ex-gratia for kin of pharma unit fire accident victims

Amaravati: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, expressed his condolences for the deaths of six individuals and promised a Rs 25 lakh compensation for the deceased' families following a gas leak-caused explosion at a chemicals manufacturing plant in Akkireddygudem on Thursday.A total of thirteen persons were injured as a result of the incident.

The chief minister also announced a compensation package worth Rs 5 lakh for those who were badly injured and Rs 2 lakh for others who suffered lesser injuries.

Officials have been advised to keep an eye on individuals who have been injured, and the SP and the district collector have been tasked with conducting a comprehensive inquiry into the incident's cause.

Meanwhile, Governor of Andhra Pradesh Biswabhusan Harichandan expressed his sorrow over the accident. The Governor was informed by district officials that a fire broke out in the chemical factory on Wednesday night, and that the injured were taken to a hospital in Vijayawada for treatment. The Governor also offered his sympathies to the lost families and hoped those injured in the disaster a speedy recovery.
