In Kotha Basapuram of Cuddapah district, a mentally challenged youth brutally murdered his own uncle and aunt while sleeping indiscriminately with knives. The police arrested the accused. Tori Vemula Nagaiah and Nagamma lived in Kotha Basapuram village in the heart of the Brahmangiri Math Mandal of YSR Kadapa district.

Police said that the accused youth is the son of the sister of the deceased of Nagulapalle of Veeraiah Chapadu mandal. He was undergoing treatment at the house of the deceased as he was mentally challenged. Police reached the spot and arrested Veeraiah, who was hiding in a house. In a similar incident, a minor girl Manavita (17) committed suicide at Mandya's government remand home. Who was in the government remand home for the murder of her lover Darshan (17).

According to police sources, on April 15, Manavitha's father M S Shiva Lingu called Darshan to his house on the pretext of talking. Lingu and others allegedly physically assaulted Darshan, who died on his way to the Bengaluru hospital. Mandya West Police has registered a case against 17 people including Manavita for the murder. Police arrested five people in this connection, the court sent the minor girl to the government remand home. Manvita had reportedly gone into depression and committed suicide. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
