Visakhapatnam: Tension persists in Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Actually, Andhra Pradesh Police has arrested former minister and TDP leader Kallu Ravindra. For the past 36 hours, Kallu stage dharna. They allege that there is a deliberate lack of sand in the state. TDP is opposing this. However, now Kallu Ravindra has been arrested by the police.

Andhra Pradesh Police has arrested Kallu Ravindra from the protest site. Police first went to his residence to arrest TDP leader Kallu Ravindra, but he was not found there. After this, the police reached the picket. Violent clashes took place between TDP supporters and police here. At the same time, the police arrested the former minister Kallu Ravindra and took custody of many TDP leaders including District President Bachhula Arjun.

The opposition party has accused CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh that he has created an artificial shortage of sand in the state and hence it is being opposed. Earlier, Kallu Ravindra had said that the current government is failing to deal with the shortage of sand. Therefore, he will continue to stage Dharna. He had declared to fast for 36 hours.
