Vijayawada: A tragic accident has occurred at Kanak Durga Mata temple in Vijayawada city of Andhra Pradesh in which two persons were seriously injured. Thereafter, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced Rs 70 crore for renovation and modernisation of the temple.
It is noteworthy that at least five people were trapped under the rubble due to landslides here yesterday. They were somehow evacuated by the relief and rescue personnel. Two of these people were badly injured. He was admitted to the hospital immediately. The temple of Kanak Durga Mata is present on the Indrkiladri Mountain in Vijayawada. The Durga temple had fallen down the cliff of Indrakiladri Mountain yesterday. The rock fell on the shed near the temple. It stirred up all the devotees there.
Thereafter, District Collector AMD Imtiaz and Commissioner of Police (Vijayawada) B Srinivasulu inspected the spot. Navratri festival is going on in Durga temples across the country these days. In the Durga temple on Wednesday, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy was also going to arrive for darshan, but for some reason, his visit was averted.
