New Delhi: The apex court-appointed committee held its first meeting to resolve the impasse over the three agricultural laws brought by the Central government. A member of the Committee, Anil Dhanawat said that the biggest challenge before the panel is to convince the agitating farmers to talk to them and share their problems.

He said, "It has been decided that the first meeting with the farmers will be held on 21st January. The physical meeting will be held with the organizations that want to meet us privately. Video conferencing will be held with people who cannot come to us. Assuring all possible efforts to help end the ongoing stalemate between thousands of farmers and the government, Dhanawat said that the apex court-appointed panel on agricultural laws will brainstorm with the central and state governments besides farmers, agricultural stakeholders.

The Supreme Court had last week stayed the orders for implementation of the law. A four-member committee was constituted to find an amicable redressal to end the deadlock between the centre and the farmers' organisations.
