Kumble is the only Indian, who is the head coach of an IPL team. Kings XI is the third team of IPL, with whom Anil Kumble will be seen.

According to a report, the Punjab team has given some responsibilities to Anil Kumble apart from the head coach. He has been appointed as the head of all franchise-based cricket decisions. It will also include strategies to be made for the future. According to the report, Kumble gave his presentation to the team management of Kings XI Punjab on 19 October.

Anil Kumble will now take over the responsibility of Mike Hewson in the Kings XI team. New Zealand's Mike Hewson had a two-year contract with the Punjab franchise.
