Another corona vaccine for children, DCGI approves emergency use of Corbevax

New Delhi: Children are going to get another weapon to fight the coronavirus infection. Corbevax corona vaccine in India has got emergency use permission. It can be applied to children between the ages of 12 and 18. However, the government has not yet taken any decision on vaccinating those below the age of 15. That is, this vaccine will be administered after approval to young children.

Corbevax has become the third vaccine to be administered to children, which will be approved by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). Earlier, Zydus Cadila's ZycoV-D and Bharat Biotech's Covaxin were allowed.
 
Corbevax has been developed by Biological E Limited. This is the first indigenous vaccine to fight corona, which is a receptor-binding domain (RBD) sub-unit vaccine. Mahima Dalta, Managing Director of Biological E Ltd. has expressed happiness over the green signal for the vaccine.
