Member of Girls' Generation,  Sunny, has been diagnosed with COVID-19. SM Entertainment issued a statement announcing the information on August 24. Sunny tested herself using a self-testing kit because she was feeling unwell, and the results were positive, the agency claims. Sunny underwent a fast antigen test on August 24 in the morning and was diagnosed with the virus after receiving a positive result on the same test.

Following this, Sunny has halted her scheduled activities and is currently self-isolating. The Girls’ Generation member is receiving treatment at home in accordance with the guidelines set by the quarantine authorities.

Following Seohyun, Sunny is the second member of the Girls' Generation to test positive for COVID-19 this month. On August 9, Seohyun revealed her illness on her personal social media accounts. A member of Girls' Generation said, "I am aware that neither the fans nor we have been more anticipating our promotions than anyone else. Sorry!" This was in reference to Girls' Generation postponing their week of promotions.

Girls' Generation made their debut in 2007 with the single "Into the New World," and they are frequently referred to as "The Nation's Girl Group" in their native South Korea. After their previous album, "Holiday Night," the girl group released "FOREVER 1," their seventh complete album, on August 5. This was their first full group release in five years. The most recent album by Girls' Generation is particularly noteworthy because it marks the fifteenth anniversary of its debut. Additionally, the most recent release from Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, YoonA, and Seohyun is getting a tonne of praise both domestically and abroad.

Wishing her a speedy recovery.
