TWICE member Jihyo tested positive for COVID-19 according to a statement released by her agency JYP Entertainment. In the statement released by the group’s official fan cafe, it was further revealed that the leader of the group tested positive for COVID on the same day with a self-test kit. Resulting in the member being absent from all of the group’s upcoming promotions for their eleventh EP 

As a result, the TWICE member is expected to be absent from the ‘BETWEEN 1&2’ which is all set to release on August 26. However, no further news about the other members’ test results has been revealed so far.

“This is JYP Entertainment.

We are sad to inform you that TWICE member JIHYO tested positive for COVID-19 antigen testing on August 24th. JIHYO tested positive for the self-diagnosis kit at 10:30 AM and is currently quarantined, following the guidelines from the health department after testing positive for COVID-19 antigen testing.

We apologize for causing concerns among TWICE's fans and related people.

We will prioritize our artist's health and put our best effort into her quick and healthy recovery.

Thank you.”

Furthermore, the 'album sneak peek' was released on August 23 at midnight KST (August 22 at 8:30 pm IST) and will be followed by two music video teasers over the next couple of days. Whereas, TWICE’s 11th mini album ‘BETWEEN 1&2’ will release on August 26 at 9:30 am IST, along with a music video. On the same day as their comeback, the JYP Entertainment girl group will also be appearing on MTV’s ‘Fresh Out Live’.
