Sangli: An incident of theft like the 'Pushpa' movie has come to light in the Sangli district of Maharashtra. Police have recovered a truck in which Lalchandan worth Rs 2.45 crore was being smuggled secretly. The Sangli police and the forest department conducted a joint operation and seized the truck. A criminal has also been arrested.
It has been reported that a criminal named Yasin Inayathulla was on his way to Maharashtra from the Karnataka-Andhra border. The police had already received a tip-off that Lalchandan was being brought in the truck. As soon as the culprit reached Sangli, he was arrested from Meraj Nagar. It is reported that the culprit was inspired by the recently released Pushpa movie. He had kept red sandalwood in his truck, but in addition to this, many fruit cans were also kept on top.
A sticker of corona essential products was also put on top of the same truck. In such a situation there was a complete plan to deceive the eyes. But since the police had already received the input, a nakabandi was carried out and then the truck was recovered. The culprits have been booked under sections 379, 34 and the Forest Act. For now, in this entire incident, the police are investigating how big a network it is, who is involved in this network.
