CHENNAI: Sleuths from the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) raided the homes and other properties of former state higher education minister K.P. Anbazhagan and his relatives on Thursday, including his daughter-in- law's home. This comes after cases were filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988. Raids are taking place at his Dharmapuri home and other locations around the state.

K.P. Anbhazhagan, his wife Malliga, sons Sasi Mohan and Chandra Mohan, and Chandra Mohan's wife, S. Vaishnavee have been charged with corruption and the acquisition of properties disproportionate to known sources of income, according to the FIR filed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.

The DVAC filed a complaint alleging that the former minister and members of his family were involved in corrupt activities and had acquired properties and financial resources in his name and the names of family members that were disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Several previous AIADMK ministers' homes have been raided since the DMK administration led by M.K. Stalin took office in May 2021. M.R. Vijayabhaskar, C. Vijayabaskar, S.P. Velumni, K.C. Veeramani, and Thangamani are among them.
