The violence at Jawaharlal Nehru University has been opposed by many veterans. Violence cannot be justified in any way. The protesters also gathered at the Gateway of India in Mumbai to protest against the violence in JNU. Currently, the protest was against JNU violence, but during this time posters of 'Free Kashmir' appeared. These posters have once again made them think whether they do not consider Kashmir a part of the country. They want Kashmir to separate from the country. This demonstration was against the violence in JNU or was it for the independence of Kashmir.

Debate has started on both this performance and the poster. Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has also tweeted on this. While sharing the poster, Anupam Kher has asked why this poster was shown in this demonstration on JNU violence? What is its connection? Does any responsible person oppose it? If not, sorry this is not a student's movement. Its purpose is something else. On Monday, a march from Hatatma Chowk to Gateway was taken out in protest against the violence in JNU. A large number of people gathered in this demonstration. Bhim Army workers also reached it. The entire route of Gateway of India has been blocked. Celebrities like Anubhav Sinha, Anurag Kashyap, Dia Mirza, Vishal Bhardwaj, and Taapsee Pannu were involved in this performance, people are also questioning these celebrities as to what they want to prove by waving posters of 'Free Kashmir'.

The violence in JNU happened when the workers of JNU's left student unit and the teacher of JNU were protesting on the issue of an increase in fees. During this, there was a fight between the students and there was a late night protest. Some masked people entered the university and beat up and vandalized the students. The masked were equipped with wooden poles and iron rods. More than 20 students were injured in this violence. The JNU Students Union had claimed that the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) had carried out the violence. Apart from this, ABVP accused the left wing of assault. 'Free Kashmir' means to liberate Kashmir. Significantly, on August 5, the Government of India abolished Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir. With this, Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
