Noted South Indian film actress Anushka Shetty is celebrating her birthday today. Anushka was born on November 7, 1981, in Puttur, Karnataka and was named Sweety Shetty by her parents. Anushka started her acting career in 2005 with the Telugu film Super in which she appeared alongside Akkineni Nagarjuna and Ayesha Takia. Anushka then also worked in Tamil, Kannada and Bollywood movies and made her mark. Anushka is one of the highest-paid actresses in the South Indian film industry and is also known as Lady Superstar.
Anushka had never thought of becoming an actress but was selected in an audition conducted by director Puri Jagannath. Earlier, after completing her college education, she used to take meditation workshops after which she became a yoga instructor and took yoga classes in Mumbai. Anushka's decision to become a yoga instructor from the doctor and engineer's family was very different. Apart from this Anushka also taught third graders after completing her graduation.
The same was the case when Anushka was busy with her yoga classes when director Mehr Ramesh saw her and told Puri Jagan about her after which she made her acting debut with the film Super in 2005. She then worked in the film Mahanandi. Anushka decided to return to her home town after these two films but a phone call from director SS Rajamouli changed her life. In fact, Rajamouli signed her with Ravi Teja in the movie Vikramarkudu and the movie proved to be a blockbuster hit that changed Anushka's life.
