The Penamaluru assembly constituency is an election area of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. This is one of the 16 constituencies of Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. According to the Delimitation Order 2008, this constituency includes Kankipadu Mandal, Vayu Mandal, and Penamaluru Mandal. It comes under Machilipatnam Lok Sabha constituency. It is a part of the other six assembly areas, Gannavaram, Peddana, Gudivada, Avanigadda, Machilipatnam, and Penamaluru.

TDP, YSRCP, Congress are the major political parties in the Penamaluru assembly constituency. The present MLA from the Penamaluru assembly constituency is Bode Prasad from TDP. This is a newly formed assembly constituency. There have been two elections until now.

Bode Prasad, representing TDP, is the current MLA of the Penamaluru assembly constituency. He is the YSRCP candidate in the 2014 Andhra Pradesh assembly elections. Beat Vidyasagar In the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections 2014, Bode Prasad had achieved 1,02,330 (54.97 percent) votes. On the other hand, the YSRCP candidate Vidyasagar got 70,882 (38.08 percent) votes. Let me tell you, Bode Prasad defeated his nearest rival by 31,448 votes.
