Apple has completely suspended updates of many thousands of apps in China and Apple made this decision due to lack of government license.
According to a media reporter's report, almost all the gaming apps that Apple has suspended are updates. The time was given by the developers, but the developers have not yet shown any license, after which Apple has to take this decision. Apple is facing government pressure to follow local rules. Only after pressure from the government, Apple had demanded government license from almost all game developers. Apple's app store is the largest market in China. Only Apple app store from China earns $ 16.4 billion which is only from gaming apps.
In addition, almost all paid gaming apps on Apple's App Store require an Internet Content Provider License. This rule has only been applicable since 2016 in the App Store in China. This license is available only after a government review. The update of more than 60,000 gaming apps has been suspended by this decision of Apple. Since 2010, only 43,000 developers have submitted licenses. Apple has taken this decision, even though it was not getting a license for years.
