Jabil, a major global electronics manufacturer, is set to invest Rs 2000 crore in establishing a new production facility in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. This announcement was made by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin during his 17-day trip to the United States aimed at attracting new investments.

The new facility, which is expected to create around 5000 jobs, will play a crucial role in building a robust electronics manufacturing cluster in the region. This investment aligns with Apple's strategy to expand its supply chain in India and enhances Tamil Nadu's growing reputation as a key hub for electronics production.

Jabil, a key supplier of components to tech giants like Cisco and HP, joins other major Apple suppliers already operating in Tamil Nadu, including Foxconn, Pegatron, Tata Electronics, and Corning.

In addition to the Jabil investment, CM Stalin announced two other major developments. Rockwell Automation will invest Rs 666 crore to expand its manufacturing operations in Kanchipuram, generating 365 new jobs. Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Autodesk will focus on upskilling youth and supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), bolstering Tamil Nadu’s industrial sector.
