According to the reports, the Cupertino giant is right now planning to add new peculiarities to the forthcoming version of the Apple's mobile operating system, iOS 12. The elite class smartphone Apple is making a significant change to its wireless chip in the iPhone. This chip will, in turn, allow the users to more securely unlock doors enabled with the same technology.

The change to the near-field communication, or NFC, the chip could cover the way for people to use iPhones for other security-sensitive interactions. This will happen from paying transition charges and opening car doors to verifying their identity in other ways. The announcement of the same is expected to be announced next month.

With this upgradation, the Apple company wants to expand the use of iPhones in contactless interactions. Also, this chip may even benefit as a hotel key door or virtual transition card for easier access.

The report adds that the foremost disadvantage of current NFC Application Programming Interface (API) is that the app must not only be in the forefront. But also present a special system modal sheet to begin scanning. However, the usage of this chip is still limited.

According to Gadget Now, the smartphone giant is likely to declare iOS 12 and other major software programs during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2018 that is registered for next month (June 4-8) at the McEnery Convention Center, San Jose, US.
