AR Rahman has said, "Whenever I listen to these new artists, then I think, they are producing intense and amazing songs, so I cannot work with these people." He laughingly told about his song that he wanted to make a good dance song and take it on a common path, and Rehman made 'You Got Me'. He said, "Nirmika Singh has sung this song very beautifully. I want to make a very simple and enjoyable song."

At the launch of the trailer of this film, AR Rehman said that he cautioned the director not to cast a Pakistani artist in the film, citing the harsh relationship between India and Pakistan, otherwise he will get into trouble.
