Shehzada premiered on February 17, a week later than originally planned to avoid a direct competition with Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan. Shehzada, starring Kartik Aaryan, has once again made headlines for all the wrong reasons four months after its release. In addition to Allu Arjun and Pooja Hedge, the movie also has key performances by Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, and Ronit Roy. Ala Vaikunthapurramloo is an official Hindi remake of the Telugu film. Rohit Dhawan is the director of the movie. However, the creators have been charged with failing to pay suppliers' debts months after the product's distribution.

Kartik Aaryan had disclosed that the movie was in trouble, and as a result, he had made the decision to refund his co-producer money. For this one," he had said to the same outlet. I didn't want to be a producer for Shehzada at first. I had first accepted my fees and compensation. Then a situation developed. They needed someone to step up since the movie was in a crisis. I then requested my producer before parting with my cash. That is how the production, as well as my role as a co-producer, came about.

According to a recent story in, the Shehzada crew members have accused the producers of failing to pay their Rs 30 lakh in arrears. Usually, 60 to 90 days after the film's release, the outstanding balance is paid. The entertainment portal also stated that the film's directing staff is concerned over unpaid dues, adding that "such practices erode trust and discourage future collaborations with producers." Additionally, it should be noted that the film's creators have not yet made any statements addressing claims of non-payment.

Shehzada, which is directed by Rohit Dhawan, also has Paresh Rawal, Manish Koirala, Rajpal Yadav, and Ronit Roy in pivotal parts. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, starring Allu Arjun, is the Telugu film's official remake. In her review of Shehzada, Shosha writes:  “Shehzada rests mostly on Kartik Aaryan’s shoulders, he is present in almost every frame. Kriti Sanon’s role is small, but her chemistry with Kartik is palpable. Both complement each other very well on screen and are probably one of the best looking onscreen couples in Bollywood currently.”

At the box office, Shehzada competed with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania from Marvel Studios. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham's Pathan, which came out in January 2023, also posed a serious threat to it. Shehzada made little more than Rs 32 crore in total revenue during his career.
