Argentina is set to replace Indonesia as the host of the FIFA 2023 Under-20 World Cup. Indonesia has been removed from hosting it by FIFA. The world football governing body has announced this. The Bureau of the FIFA Council confirmed its decision after a subsequent bid was submitted by the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and a FIFA delegation visited the South American country last week.

The FIFA U-20 World Cup will start from May 20 to June 11, and it will be the first time Argentina will host the tournament since 2001. The official draw for the FIFA U-20 World Cup will take place on April 21 at FIFA's headquarters in Zurich. Earlier, there were reports that Sultan Mohammed VI of Morocco had announced that his country would make a joint bid with Spain and Portugal to host the FIFA World Cup 2030. The Sultan said in a message to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) that the joint bid would bring together Africa and Europe, the northern and southern Mediterranean, and the African Arab and Euro-Mediterranean worlds.

He said in his message that it is going to bring out the best in us, which can be a true amalgamation of talent, creativity, experience, and resources. This message was given by the Sultan in his address on the occasion of the CAF Outstanding Achievement Award 2022 on Tuesday in Kigali, Rwanda. Morocco is bidding to host the FIFA World Cup for the sixth time, having unsuccessfully tried in 1994, 1998, 2006, 2010, and 2026. In June 2021, Spain and Portugal confirmed that they would participate in a joint bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
