Argentina reported 7,739 new corona cases on Wednesday. With the addition of these cases, the national tally reaches to 2,001,034.
The health ministry said that that country reported 109 more deaths from the disease, bringing the nationwide death toll to 49,674. A total of 1,798,120 patients have recovered so far, while 153,240 cases remain active. Having registered a total of 835,204 cases since the pandemic broke out in March last year; the province of Buenos Aires remains the hardest-hit region in the South American country.
In order to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus, Argentina has extended its social, preventive and mandatory distancing measures until February 28.
Meanwhile, Coronavirus cases crossses 107.4 million mark across the globe.. While 79,428,653 have recovered, 2,348,727 have died so far. The US remains the worst-hit country with 27,793,890, followed by India, Brazil, Russia and the United Kingdom. However, it terms of the total number of active cases, US tops the charts, followed by France, UK, Brazil and Belgium.
