Indian Army Chief to inaugurate war memorial on a four-day visit to UK and Italy

New Delhi: Indian Army Chief General MM Narvane will embark on a 4-day visit to the UK and Italy from July 5 to 8. The Indian Army Chief will inaugurate the Indian Army Memorial in the popular city of Casino on his visit. The news will also be given at the Italian Army Counter IID Centre of Excellence in Sochingola, Rome.

 

 

According to the Defence Ministry, the 4-day visit will see him meet his counterparts and senior military leaders of these countries with a view to enhancing India's defence cooperation. The Indian Army Chief is scheduled to visit the UK for two days (July 5 and 6), which will enable the Indian Army Chief to hold discussions with the Secretary of State for Defence, Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of General Staff and other dignitaries.

He will hold important talks with the Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Staff of the Italian Army during the second phase of his visit (July 7 and 8). Earlier on July 1, Indian Army Chief Narvane had said that the simple availability of drones has added to the problems of security challenges. However, the Indian Army is developing capabilities to effectively deal with threats. On the situation along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army Chief said that there was no infiltration along the Line of Control after the Ceasefire Agreement between the Armies of India and Pakistan in February.
