Today, a wife of a senior Army officer was killed while an Assistant Commandant of CRPF was injured in a road accident on Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway, as per the police.

Police officer further said, “Wandhna (35) died on the spot when a private cab in which she was travelling turned turtle after its driver lost control at Tappar village of Pattan, 27 kms from here”

He said, “the late was the wife of Commanding officer of 21 Raj Rifles of Army, Colonel Sourab”.

“Assistant Commandant of CRPF Manish Kumar, who was also travelling in the vehicle, was injured and admitted to a hospital”,the officer said.

Rafeeq Ahmad Sheikh of Chowkibal, was driving the vehicle on its way to Srinagar from Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
