NEW DELHI: Budget carrier IndiGo announced on Sunday that it will cancel almost 20 percent of its scheduled flights due to an increase in Covid cases.
"We expect around 20 percent of our current scheduled activities to be withdrawn from service," the company stated in a statement. "Wherever possible, flight cancellations will be done at least 72 hours in advance, and clients will be relocated to the next available flight," according to the statement. "Customers will also be allowed to reschedule their itinerary through the use of Plan B on our website."
It has decided to remove change fees for all new and existing bookings made between January 31 and March 31, 2022, for flights up to March 2022.
Because to the high volume of calls, the airline operator advised passengers to avoid calling the call centre and instead use its digital channels.
