New Delhi: Today is the death anniversary of Arun Khetarpal, a brave martyr of India and recipient of the Paramveer Chakra. He was a fourth-generation soldier. He is known for his vivacity and courage. An example of this is that at the age of just 21, he entered the enemy's house and blew up his tank. Actually, this is about the time of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. 

In this war, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal of the Indian Army entered the territory of Pakistan with his tank. During this, he was surrounded by Pakistani tankers. Despite this, the brave soldier Arun Khetarpal continued fighting with the enemy till his last breath and destroyed 4 tanks of the enemy country Pakistan. During this, his tank was set on fire but in spite of this, he continued to fire his tank's gun and continued to drive away the Pakistani soldiers standing nearby. He was martyred during this. 

Shaheed Arun Khetarpal, who has such a brave heart and courage, was born on October 14, 1950, in Pune, Maharashtra. Wars were not new for the young soldier since his great-grandfather battled the British as a member of the Sikh army, his grandfather fought the Turks in World War I, and his father, Brigadier ML Khetarpal, was a renowned Sapper. He died on December 16, 1971.
