New Delhi: National Mathematics Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the great mathematician of India, on December 22. Many documentaries and films have also been made on Srinivasa Ramanujan. He gave many tremendous theories about mathematics. At the same time, he also solved many old problems. Many of his equations are still being studied to date. He died at the age of just 32.

Srinivasa Ramanujan solved many mathematical questions that were considered impossible. Godfrey Harold (GH) Hardy, the great English mathematician of that time, recognized Ramanujan's ability during correspondence and arranged to call him to Cambridge. Hardy had said that he was surprised by Srinivasa Ramanujan's theories. He said that this kind of thing had never been seen before. When a notebook by Srinivasa Ramanujan came out after 56 years of his death, its contents became a topic of discussion among mathematicians all over the world at that time.

Srinivasa Ramanujan had unwavering faith in God. Today, even though those who believe in Lord Rama or Shri Krishna are declared as traitors by leftists and consider being atheists as proof of being intellectuals, they should know about Srinivasa Ramanujan. Mahalakshmi of Namakkal was his family deity and had immense reverence for Srinivasa Ramanujan. Ramanujan used to say that for him there is no point in a mathematical equation that does not represent the worship of God. Ramanujan was a pure vegetarian.

Ramanujan, like other ancient mathematicians of India, reached the final result of mathematical equations and was not particularly interested in noting the processes in between. He used to keep only the final result of the formula and a rough summary in his notebook. This is the reason why, when his notebooks were found, it took many mathematicians years to understand his equations. Ramanujan clearly said that his talent, knowledge and all mathematical discoveries are the gifts of Namakkal's Mahalakshmi. Ramanujan got Ph.D. for doing research on 'Highly Composite Numbers'. He was the second Indian Fellow of the 'Royal Society' of the United Kingdom (UK) and also the youngest. The problems for which thousands of mathematicians were searching for solutions for 100 years, this great mathematician of India solved them in a pinch.

Srinivasa Ramanujan said that while sleeping, Mahalakshmi herself sits with him and tells him to solve mathematical equations. In the dream, he used to see Mahalaxmi's hand, with which he used to write something and it was related to mathematics. Let me tell you, Namgiri or Namakkal – these are the names of Mahalakshmi. Even during his stay in England, Srinivasa Ramanujan used to wake up every morning and take a bath and worship Mahalakshmi. Bathing daily was uncommon in the cold region of England, and due to the food in the environment there, Ramanujan could not get used to it and was surrounded by diseases. Ramanujan gave about 3900 formulas/equations in his short life. Actually, Srinivasa Ramanujan's mother was also a devotee of Namgiri Devi.

In fact, when Ramanujan's parents did not have children even after many years of marriage, they also went to the temple of Maa Namgiri and prayed. Ramanujan's mother and grandmother strongly believed that Mahalakshmi gave him knowledge of mathematical equations. When Hardy invited Ramanujan to come to Cambridge, Ramanujan went to the Mahalaxmi temple in Namakkal to seek permission and says that after 3 days he got permission from the goddess for a sea trip.
