Ranchi: On behalf of the Sakal Jain society, a rally is being organized today to protest against the declaration of Sammed Shikhar as a tourist destination across the country, along with a demand being made to close all establishments and declare Shikharji as a holy place instead of a tourist destination. Today, along with all the big associations of Indore, each and every person of the Jain community has kept their establishments closed. Not only this, but in Ujjain, Sagar, and Baghpat as well as other cities, the entire Jain community has come forward to save Shikharji. Rallies are being taken out in the cities to protest. Along with this, the people of the society are raising slogans. In many places, memorandums are being given in the offices of the President, PM, and CM.

Actually, Sammed Shikhar is a holy place for the Jain community but the government has declared it a tourist destination. Thereafter, the entire Jain community set out to save the holy place. Because if Shikharji becomes a tourist place then its sanctity will be destroyed. In order to save it, the Jain society together has demanded the government to declare it as a pilgrimage site by 26 December. The people of Jain society told that twenty Tirthankaras of the society and Annata Annat Muniraj went to salvation after penance on Sammed Shikhar. In such a situation, we will not let it be destroyed, we will save Shikharji. Today, bandh has been called in other districts of the state besides Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain, Sagar, Narmadapuram, and Khandwa.

Know the whole matter:-

Shri Sammed Shikhar Ji is one of the holy pilgrimage centers of Jainism. Here 20 out of 24 Tirthankar Bhagwan and Mahamunirajs have attained Nirvana by doing penance. But now the Jharkhand government has sent a proposal to the central government to make this holy place a tourist spot. For which the entire Jain community has come in protest. Former CM Kamal Nath has also written a letter to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. He has written in his letter that the unwavering faith of the Jain community is attached to Sammed Shikhar ji. With this decision of the government, there is a possibility of destroying the independent, religious identity and sanctity of the pilgrimage site. Revise the decision and withdraw the decision. Under the leadership of Sakal Jain Samaj, they called for Ujjain Bandh on December 21 to protest against the declaration of Shri Sammed Shikhar Ji, the eternal pilgrimage of the Jain community, as a tourist destination. In such a situation, today all the Jains have closed their establishments and participated in the protest rally.
