In the history of India, there have been countless warriors who have proved their bravery around the world, but the people who had the courage to write the history of the country, did not do justice to these heroes. One of these was Mahayodha Malharrao Holkar Ji. Some people accused him of running away from the battlefield in Panipat war.  But the reality was different.

In the relentless battle of Panipat, this valiant warrior Malhar Rao destroyed the army of robbers and looters Ahmed Shah Abdali. In this battle when the confidence of Vishwas Rao Peshwa Virgati was achieved, the morale of the Marathas began to decline, then the then Maratha commander Sadashiv Rao Bhau called Malhar Rao and urged him to take his wife Parvatibai to a safe place because the Marathas The brutal and extremely disgusting attitude towards women of Abdali's army was well known. Malhar Rao complied with this order.

In due course, the mighty warrior Malhar Rao died on 20 May 1766 in Alampur. After the death of Khanderao, his wife Ahilyabai Holkar was prevented from becoming Sati by Malhar Rao. Male Rao, Ahilya's son and grandson of Malhar Rao, got the princely state of Indore. But he also died in a few months. After that Ahilyabai Holkar took over the reins of power and she proved to be a skilled ruler. Today, on the birthday of that great warrior, we pay humble tribute to him.
