Today is the birthday of actor Arun Govil, who played Ram in tv's popular religious serial Ramayana. He spent his childhood in Meerut, UP. He studied at Meerut University and came to Mumbai at the age of 17 in business but suddenly got excited to act and became an actor. Arun Govil had discussed his career in an interview. In which he mentioned many stories.

Arun Govil said, "During the initial period, I played the role of a side hero in many films and then Rajshree Production House gave me a break in the film 'Sawan Ko Aane Do'. His film journey started but he got popularity with the role of Maharaj Vikramaditya in the serial 'Vikram Aur Betaal'. This serial was broadcast on Doordarshan. Arun Govil explains, "I got an opportunity to meet Ramanand Sagar because of this serial because this serial was being produced by his son Prem Sagar. I went to meet him and I gave him many screen tests. Ramanand Sagar Ji told me that we will choose you for the role of Lakshman or Bharat. In my mind, only the role of Ram was there but I didn't tell him. Later his selection team and Ramanand Ji said that we will not get Ram like you. "

Arun Govil's life changed after playing the Ram. When people saw Arun in public places, they would touch his feet and ask for blessings. People could not see him as different from his role. Recalling his nostalgia, Arun says, "I remember one day I was sitting on the set wearing a T-shirt. A woman came and asked the people working on the sets where Mr Ram was. She was saying she had to meet me" she had a baby on her lap. The people working on the set sent her to me. "At first she didn't recognize me, then she saw me for a while and put her baby in my footsteps crying. I panicked. I said, 'What are you doing? Leave my feet. She cried, 'My son is sick. he will die, you save it. I folded my hands and explained to her, 'It's not in my hands, I can't do anything. You take him to the hospital. I gave the woman a few rupees. I prayed to God to heal his son and then explained and asked him to go to the hospital. She left at that time but came again three days later. This time too, his son was with him. Seeing that woman, I was convinced that if we trust in God and pray, he must listen."
