NEW DELHI: The mortal remains of former finance minister and veteran BJP leader Arun Jaitley have been brought home from AIIMS, where Jansallab has come up to make his last visit. According to BJP leader Sudhanshu Mittal, the last rites will be held at Nigambodh Ghat on Sunday afternoon. Jaitley's family has asked PM Narendra Modi, who is on a foreign tour, to return home only after completing the entire programme, so he will not be able to attend the funeral of the former finance minister.
It may be mentioned that Jaitley passed away at AIIMS at 12.07 this afternoon. He had been undergoing treatment in the hospital since August 9. He joined AIIMS on 9th August. After completing the formalities at AIIMS, Jaitley's mortal remains were brought to his Kailash colony residence. On Sunday morning, his mortal remains will be taken to the BJP headquarters where leaders of political parties will bid him a final farewell. From there, Jaitley's mortal remains will be taken to Nigambodh Ghat for the funeral.
Arun Jaitley's house is home with a large number of his admirers and party workers. The atmosphere is very gloomy and their actions are being remembered. A highly polite, humble and politically noble strategist, Jaitley was the chief troublemaker for the BJP and PM Narendra Modi, whose four-decade-old political shift ended before time due to health problems.
