Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh's Gautambuddh Nagar Police has detained four journalists on Friday (23 August night). These journalists used to blackmail police officers. Police have already received a number of complaints against the four. As per the information received, all the four pakkars have been arrested by the police late in the night.

The four journalists used to blackmail people by printing news reports through fake websites and magazines. Three of these fake journalists have already been jailed. The names of the arrested journalists are Sushil Pandit, Chandan, Nitish Pandey and Udit Goyal. The police will hold press conferences to disclose their exploits soon.

Earlier in January, police had arrested three journalists and a police inspector as part of a major operation on charges of bribery and extortion. The four were forced to take bribes worth Rs 8 lakh or extort money from Sector 20 police stations.
