According to a senior Health Department official, the COVID-19 total in Arunachal Pradesh grew to 55,558 on Monday, with 37 more people positive tests for the virus, up to 22 the week before.

He stated the death toll remained at 282 since no new deaths had been reported in the previous 24 hours. Since January 4, the Northeastern state has seen an increase in Covid-19 cases, with 206 infections reported. According to State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa, Arunachal Pradesh presently has 222 active cases, with 55,054 people recovering from the disease so far, including one on Sunday.

According to the official, three NDRF workers are among the new patients. The Itanagar Capital Complex region had the most new cases (18), followed by West Kameng district with 13 and Namsai with three.

The recovery rate among patients in the state was 99.09 percent. The state has tested over 12.08 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 376 on Sunday, and the positivity rate has risen to 9.84 percent. So far, 14,89,389 persons have been immunised, according to State Vaccination Officer Dr Dimong Padung. The first dose has been given to at least 18,941 beneficiaries between the ages of 15 and 18, according the official.
