New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor, condemned Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi for allegedly appealing to the public to prevent migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar from entering the state. Kejriwal described the statement as "shameful," saying that the Punjab Chief Minister refers to him as a "Kala (black)".

"The comments are very awful. We vehemently oppose remarks directed towards any individual or community. He also refers to me as 'Kala' (black) "Kejriwal made the remarks during a press conference in Mohali. Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Chief Ministerial candidate, was also present at the news conference. Previously, during a political rally, Channi stated, "'Do not let Uttar Pradesh and Bihar ke bhaiya to enter Punjab."

"There have been numerous calls for Amritsar to be designated as a 'World Icon City.' Mann and I have discussed this, and Rintuji has been working on it for a long time as well. We assure you that every effort would be made to make Amritsar a 'World Icon City.' "As Kejriwal stated.
