NEW DELHI: In two defamation cases, Delhi's Rouge Avenue Court has granted bail to CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. The court granted bail on a personal bond of 10 thousand rupees in both cases. Rajiv Babbar and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Vijender Gupta had filed a defamation case.

Kejriwal and Sisodia were summoned by the Rouge Avenue Court in the last hearing. After which both the leaders appeared in the court today and the court granted them bail. The next hearing in both cases will be held on July 25. Earlier, two witnesses had recorded statements in favour of Vijender Gupta. The court had recorded statements by Deepak Bansal, state secretary of bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJM) and Anurag Malik, a law student at Delhi University.

The lawyer on behalf of Vijender Gupta had said that he wanted to close the pre-summoning avidance. Gupta had said in his statement that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) President Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia had deliberately tried to tarnish the image of him and the BJP.
