After the State dropped permission for a public meeting, Capital’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to Gujarat has been cancelled.

The Aam Aadmi Party has been trying to gain a foothold in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home State which goes to the Assembly polls next year. The visit was meant to announce that his party, which trounced the BJP in Delhi last year, would contest the Assembly polls.

AAP Gujarat leader Kanu Kalsaria said officials got the booking cancelled and forced the trade body to withdraw the invitation and said, “The authorities pressured the traders and businessmen to withdraw the invitation or face the consequences”.
