Lok Sabha Elections: Mumbaikars' Special Treat After Voting! Hotels in Mumbai Offer Discounts to Voters

In a bid to boost voter turnout in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024, hotels and restaurants across Mumbai and Maharashtra are rolling out special discounts for voters. Under initiatives like 'Pledge to Vote' and 'Democracy Discount', voters can enjoy discounts ranging from 10% to 20% by simply showing their inked fingers.

Encouraging More Votes
To motivate more people to participate in the general elections, eateries in Mumbai and various parts of Maharashtra are extending their support by offering discounts to voters. On May 20 and May 21, after casting their votes, citizens can avail themselves of these discounts at participating restaurants in the city.

Pledge to Vote Campaign
The "Pledge To Vote" campaign, led by the Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India), has garnered support from numerous hotels and restaurants in Maharashtra. These establishments will provide a 10% to 20% discount to customers who have exercised their voting rights.

Boosting Voter Turnout
The association has encouraged its members to actively engage with the public and promote higher voter turnout by offering discounts on bills. To benefit from these discounts, individuals need to display the indelible ink mark on their fingers.

Additional Offer: Democracy Discount
In addition to the ongoing initiatives, some hotels and restaurants in Mumbai will offer a generous 20% discount on dine-in bills exclusively for local voters on May 20 and 21.

Encouraging Civic Participation
The National Restaurant Association of India has launched the Democracy Discount initiative to further encourage citizens to cast their votes. With several constituencies in Maharashtra witnessing polling since April 19, key seats like Mumbai, Palghar, Kalyan, and Thane will go to poll on May 20.

Speaking on the initiative, Rachel Goenka, Head of NRAI Mumbai Chapter, expressed excitement about the community's involvement, emphasizing Mumbai's strong sense of unity.

Participating restaurants will offer a 20% discount on the total bill to dine-in customers who are residents according to their voter ID and have cast their votes with inked fingers.
