NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said that the Delhi government will take strict action against such hospitals if they are reluctant to treat accident victims. He said, the Delhi government is bearing the full cost of treatment of accident victims under its scheme and 2,501 people have received free treatment in private hospitals between February 2018 and April 2019.

Addressing a press conference at the secretariat, CM Kejriwal said, "It is very important to get immediate treatment if there is an accident or an acid attack or if there is a burn injury within the Delhi border." The medical field says that if the victim gets medical care in the first 1 hour, the chances of survival of the accident victims are very high. There are several orders of the Supreme Court and the High Court which say that if you take a victim to a hospital, no hospital can refuse treatment.

It is often seen that private hospitals sometimes refused to take some excuse and refuse treatment. Private hospitals avoid treatment as to who will pay the bill. Whether the victim is insured or not. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said the bill will be paid by the Delhi government.
